img_0071.jpgj-tp4-topleftflower.gif  So,here is Alice June.  So full of mean juice I can't keep up with her. However, she is too sweet to punish.  Four months old and a princess!!! If you are wondering, she is a precosious Boston Terrier.  I think she is really a Pit Bull in disguise.  No, really, she is awesome and I wouldn't trade her for any cute, dainty little Silky.  :]

I found a terrific bargain yesterday.  A three piece set of white wicker for my patio.  I am so pleased with it.  Come On Summer!!!

I see I must delete some ofd my older works here. It sure isn't thanksgiving.  Okay, gotta go now because the pup does.  :] Thanks for dropping by.February19, 2008

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving.....turkey and gravey, and mashed potatoes...cranberry sauce..  Right now, it is snowing and puts me in the mood for some real Christmas  power  shopping.  Maybe my daughter will feel the same.  I have a delimma of sorts.  I need so many things for the house.  I will never be able to find all those things and I am planning to simply ignore the toaster with the broken handle and the tissue thin tea towels.  They are nothing to compare to the real stuff on my list.  So, I will eat , drink and be merry tommorow and let the chips fall where they may.  What I really wanted to say, was...have a splendid Thanksgiving and may your team win.  I shall return after the feast.

Enterted on November 21, 2007

Fall has begun to set in and take a languid stroll into winter.  I do not care for winter, however, I do believe it has a reason to be in the weather cycle.  If nothing else, to make us slow down and draw closer to the hearth so to speak.

Was I foolish to purchase a bird bath this late in the year.  Hardly. It gave me reason to be outside and catch a glimpse of a sweet Humming Bird.  Yesterday evening, I found a variety of praying Mantis I had never seen before and several new spots in the siding that the squirrels had found tasty. See what you find by just strolling around your yard.

We had our house painted this week and I am still marveling at the speed in which the crew finished.  And, the work is prima.  I didn't mention the fabulous old fashioned thermometer I found at the hardware store.  About a foot in circumference and white with a pair of cardinal feeding on red berries in the snow.  I love it and that will remind me to keep feed out for my feathered friends.

Must go now.  I figure I have waited long enough to catch some of the birds making use of what I bought for them.  Thank you for stopping by.Can't write anything.

Here it is another Tuesday and I made it back to share a few thoughts with you.  Yesterday was five years ago that our country was viciously attacked by the purest form of  evil.  People that hate us simply because we don't believe whatever they believe.  Matters not to them that we want nothing to do with them.. we must die.  How absurd.  Yes, they have and will kill a few of us, but in the end, the heavens will open and a huge and mighty hand will slap the hell out of them.  Fight over.Matrix.

Now, on to something less painful.  I planted 100 tulip bulbs today.  My back and legs are screaming.  I am on the look out for a couple of butterfly bushes, preferably purple and lilac.  Smell super sweet.  I have some pictures of my wildflower garden in its prime.  If I can I will post a few.  Right now, I am in the fall mode of thinking.  That means, crisp nights and the acrid smell of my neighbors burning cheap wood.  Sorry, but there is wood and there is scraps.

I must run now and try to get something prepared for dinner.  Help me please!!!

Have a good evening and stay well and wary.

Friday, September 15, 2006....

If this has ever happened to you, I'd like to know what to call it.  Feel fine one day, maybe a little slower getting around, go to bed, wake up coughing, nose stopped up, and a high temperature added to legs that feel like you took one heck of a beating or kicking.  That is what happened to me yesterday.  A viris I am sure, but by gosh, no one washes their hands more than I do.  So, now I know. You can't beat it.  Now also, I am afarid to eat fresh veggies. e_coli !!!!! Afraid to eat meat ....bad stuff!  Okay, I used to think I could exist on cigs and cokes.  I no longer smoke, and colas are giving me too much acid.  Where do I go from here?  Yeah I know. You  don't care. Just thought I'd share.

On a better subject, I lured my neighbors Humming birds to my much prettier feeder!!!Anti-social.  True.  A big red apple is much better than a heart!  See, birds don't like meat either! .

So long for now.  be back when the moors are not shrouded in fog.................

Sunday, September 17....

Unbelievable how the weather can change in a few days.  The A/C is off and widows open.  Pure bliss.

I think I have come to terms with my inability to lose the weight I have put on since I stopped supporting Liggit and Meyer.  I am needing something that has nothing to do with nicotine or food. I know I am full , yet I can always cram in a cookie, a handful of peanuts or another coke.  So, I also realize now, my need is all mental.  If I don't get my life running in an orderly fashion, I will ultimately fail in the battle of the bulge.  I love clothes shopping too much to give in to sweat pants and mu-mu's.  So, onward and upward to getting it done.

You are probably thinking that for an author I don't talk about books and writing much.  You're right.  I love writing, and as you can see, I love other things as passionately.  Please join me in the love of these finer things in life.tn_donjuan.jpg

Yes, I am one of those strange people that love 's anything beautiful and is crushed to see it destroyed.  I wish the horse had lived a normal life, still eating clover today instead of being put down after doing its best in the sport of kings.  I am still gagging over that one. I'll give you another giggle.  He is waiting at the rainbow bridge with my babies.  I'll be there one day, kids.   Now go play.

NOVEMBER 10, 2006....I don't know what happened to our four seasons.   Last night, I went to bed, it was summer.  This morning, I woke to a northerly wind and freezing temps.   This reminds me of a few aquaintences I have made along the way.   Like the weather, whining and needy one day, cold as ashes the next.040501_bbbarbedwire.jpg..................

When someone tells you writing a book for a good epublisher is a snap, do not be decieved.  Their books require stiff edit sessions and demand authenticity on major subjects.  You are allowed creative license to a point.  Sherri E.  is a stickler for proper structure, spelling and all the boring stuff that makes an epubbed book desirable or a throw away.  I like to think mine are all beloved keepers.  I won't try to be coy or toy with you....I know they are.

Did you note the contrast in the picture I gave you to enjoy?  Barbed wire and Blue Bonnets.    I think I need to relocate to Texas.  I write about that state more than the rest. I love the history, the lore and the passionate people that hail from there.   They're like the picture...tough as barbed wire and tender as a Blue Bonnet.  Here's to the Lone Star State and all those  cowboys......

November 18,2006......So, I lied...summer is back here in the wild wild mid-west!  Thanksgiving will be terribly warm and no lush sweaters needed.    Just eat all you want and sit out on the back step with a cup of fresh brewed coffee and a piece of pie.  I'll probably not be back in here for a while again....yes I know I am an infrequent visitor, but I have real excuses.  So, where have you been?fall007.jpg

This pic is right on time for the season.   Happy Thanksgiving you nice people and I'll see you soon.  Hugzez

FEBRUARY 17, 2007

I CAN REMEMBER POSTING THOSE SAD WORDS OF APPROACHING WINTER.  AND WHAT A WINTER IT HAS BEEN HERE IN THE MIDWEST.  COLD, SLEET, ICE, SNOW AND HOWLING WINDS.  IF THE LONG RANGE FORECAST IS AS CORRECT AS THE DAILY ONE, WE WILL HAVE ICE AND 70 DEGREE WEATHER THIS WEEK.  YOU KNOW, I DO WORRY ABOUT THE POLLUTION, BUT NOT SO CALLED GLOBAL WARMING.  WE DO NEED TO STOP THE FOULING OF THE EARTH.  ITS DEPLORABLE WHAT LOGGING AND MINING HAS DONE TO THE STATE OF MISSOURI.  NOW MY PET PEEVE OF ALL. HOME BUILDING!!!  WE DON'T HAVE THAT MANY PEOPLE IN THE CITY OR STATE TO FILL ALL THESE MONSTER HOUSES CROPPING UP IN EVERY VACANT PIECE OF LAND.  THE LOVELY STANDS OF WOODS ALONG WORNAL ROAD HAVE BEEN DESIMATED FOR NEW BARNS GOING BY THE NAME OF HOMES.  GONE ARE THE DEER , EXCEPT FOR THE FEW THAT HID OUT FROM THE DOZERS AND TRUCKS AND CHAINSAWS.  THE FEW TREES THAT TEETER IN THE WIND BEAR LAST YEARS REMAINS OF BIRDS NESTS OF BIRDS THAT WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS PART OF THE COUNTRY.  I AM REALLY HEARTSICK ABOUT THE DENUDING OF MY AREA.

I AM NOT TOO HAPPY TONIGHT, SO I'LL SAY NITE TO YA ALL.tn.jpg

Here it is March 2ND AND THE WIND BLOWS COLD FROM THE EAST.  I TOLD YOU EARLIER WE WOULD HAVE ICE, SNOW, SUN AND RAIN.  WELL, I WAS RIGHT.  TWO NIGHTS AGO WE HAD SEVERE WEATHER.  AFTER HITTING SIXTY DEGREES BEFORE IT ALL STARTED.  TORRENTIAL RAIN, HAIL AND THEN MORE RAIN ALL NIGHT LONG.  THE NEXT DAY, SURE...WE HAD SNOW.  GOTTA LOVE MISSOURI'S WEATHER.  WOMEN CAN HAVE A TON OF DIFFERENT OUTFITS.  THEY NEED EM.  MY HEART GOES OUT TO ALL THE FOLKS THAT LOST LOVED ONES AND THEIR HOMES IN THOSE HORRIBLE STORMS.  GBWY. TAKE CARE EVERY ONE.

March 17, 2007  St Patrick's Day......

I don't really celebrate the day cause I know there is not one drop of green blood coursing through my German/Choctaw veins.  I am proud of my split heritage...strong and able to bend in a storm.  Hey, spring  got here didn't it...at least on the calander.  And. I hear a B-1 bomber going over the house.  I love the macho rumble.  went to an estate sale down the street.  Bought a fab hand painted fourties lamp.  Beautiful.  20. 00 bucks!!!!  I have really been knuckling down to write.  Have to finish this mss so I can idle all summer.  Love the sound of that.  I will be in here a lot more often as well.  I have some really great pics and excerpts to share.  Best as always,  Betty Womack

September 27, 2007

Where did it go?  Summer I mean.  We are already picking up leaves and getting those pesky oak leaf mites bites.  One of God's creatures I can do without!  One thought, because winter is closing in, I might devote more time to writing.  I have hit the usual wall of post book finish.  Wow. I think I came up with a new malady for the scientists.

Okay, I think I need to go write a few pages and get ready for bed.

Everyone be close and watch out for eachother.

Until we meet again.
